Our Origin
As a woodworker and owner of a custom wood products company (elementalsoak.com), I'm always looking for unique materials. Along the way, I've connected with passionate small-scale millers and producers, and I've also met folks who've milled for decades and built up incredible collections now ready to sell.
What I couldn't find was a single place that brought all of this together - a marketplace that speaks the same language woodworkers use and makes it easier to connect with independent millers and their one-of-a-kind slabs.
Our Mission
CraftMilled connects independent millers with the woodworkers, builders, and designers who need their slabs. Our goal is to strengthen the whole community - sellers, buyers, and the craft itself.
Who We Serve
This marketplace is built for:
- Small sawyers and millers
- Urban tree salvagers and reclaimed wood specialists
- Independent furniture makers, artists, builders, and architects
- Regional independent wood retailers
It's not a space for big-box commercial resellers. CraftMilled is for people who care about material, story, and craft.
What Makes Us Different
Built by a woodworker in the Pacific Northwest, CraftMilled is designed for independent craftspeople. We make it easier to find what you're looking for with categories and filters tailored to wood - not generic product tags.
Our values are simple: independence, community, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Supporting small millers keeps supply diverse and accessible, and it helps preserve the traditions and skills behind the work.
Community & Trust
We encourage quality listings by helping sellers present their slabs clearly and honestly. This isn't just a passive platform - we're here to support small businesses and promote the work of independent millers.
Respect and trust matter. This is a small community, and we want communication on CraftMilled to reflect that.
Looking Ahead
In the next few years, we aim to be the go-to place for small-scale milled wood: live edge, rough sawn, specialty cuts, and more. Soon we plan to expand to support builders, listings for used milling tools and equipment, as well as opportunities for builders and people with storm-fallen or salvaged trees ready for milling.
We plan to grow by listening - adding features and tools requested by the community.
